Small Actuators (MiniBot Series)


For applications where you need an economical small linear actuator.


Our linear actuator products fulfill the need for low-cost single-axis precision motion actuators that can easily be combined to form multi-axis platforms.  Most of these products find homes in life science equipment and lab automation equipment.

Each unit is provided complete with stepper motor.  Since we make all components in-house we can easily modify each axis travel length or sensor arrangement to match your application requirements.

All hardware (i.e., miniature recirculating ball linear guides, stepper motor, shaft coupling, ball or lead screw, and machined parts, etc.) are seamlessly integrated into the unit, allowing us to achieve a very compact size. Developed for applications where low cost is a driving factor.

Many people order our actuator products with simple micro stepper motors but some wish to have them with smart motors.  Either option is available.

If ordered with Integrated Stepper Motor Driver/Controller  The motor packaged includes the Controller, Encoder, Microstep Driver, and RS-485 Communication.

From this point you can connect your laptop and start streaming commands to start movement.




Z-axis Applications

High efficiency ball-screws or lead-screws are the preferred drive system for vertical or z-axis motion.

They offer excellent control and are not easily back driven upon a power off condition.

End of travel position can easily be adjust by swapping out longer or shorter sensor flags.

When required the Z-axis rail can be attached to another MiniBot carriage resulting in a two axis X-Z system.  The only condition is that this must be done within the same size product family.

Maintenance Free

For trouble free long life, periodically check the assembly to make sure it is free of dirt and debris particles.   Look for and tighten any loose fasteners.

Take note of any change it sound or vibration.  It may be an indicator of wear or an alignment issue.
